ResumoSUMMARY: The Postpartum is a phase of deep alterations in the social, psychological scope and physical of the woman, being thus, they increase the risks for the appearance of psychiatric disturbance. The Postpartum psychiatric disturbances if classify in post-partum Depression, post-partum Psychosis and post-partum Sadness that if they differ between itself in diverse aspects. The present article will argue concerning the post-partum psychic disturbances, with emphasis in the Postpartum Depression. The Postpartum Depression is a mental disturbance of high prevalence and that it provokes emotional alterations, cognitive, mannering and physical. Its etiology is determined by a combination of factors that must be boarded in the diagnosis and the therapeutically one. The Postpartum depression appears in the majority of the times, in the two first weeks after the childbirth. The Postpartum Depression is an important psychiatric syndrome that in general it reverberates in the interaction mother-son and of negative form and practically promotes a gradual consuming in the relation with the familiar ones. The mental health is a basic component of the health human being; therefore to promote it is a duty of the involved professionals in the human care.
