Resumo

The present study is focused on the development of new SOFC cathode structures based on YSZ electrolyte and operating in the temperature range of 600-800oC. The corresponding cathode materials were manufactured from La0.8Sr0.2Fe0.6Ni0.4O3-δ and La0.8Sr0.2Fe0.6Ni0.4O3-δ/ Ce0.9Gd0.1O2 composites. Thin electrolyte diffusion barrier layer of Ce0.9Gd0.1O2 was deposited between the cathode and the electrolyte to prevent possible formation of low conducting phases. The electrochemical characterization and SEM study of SOFCs demonstrated an improved performance of the nano-composite SOFC cathode structures.
