Resumo

Abstract Spain's Costa del Sol houses a fusion of north European immigrants and local Spanish residents who have helped create business services which cater exclusively for the modem package holiday-maker: This article focuses on levels of development amongst British expatriate service providers (ESPs) in Torremolinos, La Carihuela, Benalmadena Costa and Fuengirola. Investigation shows different features affecting business provision to a point where owners now perceive themselves to be performing satisfactorily. It is argued that these resorts are in transition and with continued improvements in offering customers a better product then an overall survival of expatriate service provision is likely.
