Magnetic Properties and Synthesis of Ferrites

In the present paper, it is demonstrated that by slow evaporation on a substrate of a ferrofluid made of maghemite nanocrystals, in an applied magnetic field, the nanocrystals are organized in ribbons. The magnetization easy axes are partially oriented. The orientation of the axes strongly depends on the strength of the applied field used during the deposition process.
