ResumoAcute intoxication by Cannabis may lead to cognitive and psychomotor deficits, hallucinations, anxiety, among other symptoms; which may last hours after consumption. In the long run, the duration of such deficits is still unclear, with reports varying between one to four weeks in chronic users. Recovery of cognitive functions has been reported to occur around the 28th day, but intoxication effect may last longer than 28 days in chronic Cannabis users. These effects may be related to the slow clearance of delta-9-tetrahidrocanabinol (THC) from the blood stream.
