Resumo

In this paper, a type of highly directional, surface-wave antenna is described. This consists of a conventional endfire structure which is terminated by a large surface-wave plane reflector and is thus operated under the backfire condition. Two commonly used endfire structures, namely helical and zigzag, are tested. The improvement is achieved in the half-power beam width
