ResumoThe theory of the "drift of continents" as proposed by the late Dr. Wegener was supposed to account readily for the Pleistocene and the Permo-Carboniferous ice ages, and this was considered one of the most important proofs of its validity. In the following paper it is shown that his theory fails completely in this respect, and it is considered that the fixity of the continents is the more reasonable supposition.
