ResumoWe report on the radiative and nonradiative emission processes from semimagnetic Pb1−xMnxSe quantum dots (QDs) embedded in a glass matrix. Emissions between the 4T1 → 6A1 states of Mn2+ ions located in the PbSe semiconductor gap were not observed. Electron Paramagnetic Resonance spectra confirmed that Mn2+ ions are located in two distinct QD sites. Furthermore, Magnetic Force Microscopy confirmed the formation of high quality Pb1−xMnxSe QDs with uniformly distributed magnetic moments.
