Resumo

Investigation was made of the fractionation in a mass spectrometer gas inlet system, consisting of a viscous leak connected to the sample reservoir by a long and narrow capillary tube. Graphs are given representing the total fractionation and the time required to approach the stationary state to a certain degree, as a function of the dimensions of the leak and the capillary. The cases treated are 1 : 1 mixtures of 16O2-16O18O; H2-16O2 and H2-HD.
