ResumoWithout devoting my attention to any general consideration, places of capture * are detailed for each species, with special reference to altitude (in metres) ; these were determined by means of a pocket altimeter, the indications of which were verified before every going away, every coming back, and whenever I passed by a quoted point.Geographical names used are those on the map of Andorra, drawn by M. Chevalier (2nd ed., 1933, Girard, Paris ; scale 1/50,000); they are eit,her French or Catalonian words, there is no need of translating into English ; nevertheless, I think it will be advisable to give the meaning of a few of them :--Borde=a hay barn, with sometimes a stable on one side.Cortal=some bordes built together far from villages, forming a summer Farga=former Catalonian iron-works.Mas=a farm isolated in the valley.hamlet in the mountain.Riu=a brook or torrent.Estany=a pond.Barranco= a deep ravine.Vall=a valley.Obaga=the slope of a valley exposed to the north.Solana=the slope of a valley exposed to the south.Coma=an even, grassy space in the high mountain, often a t the bottom of a glacial circus.Puig=a little, rounded hill.Pla=an even space rather high in altitude.Bony=a high, rounded summit.Alt=the top of a mountain.Port, porteille=a high pass between two mountains. List of Species.A. TRIONYCHB.Fam.UROCTEIDB.1. UROCTEA DURANDI (Latr.).Sant Julia de Loria : col de Jou, 1075 m., 1 9 with her egg-cocoon ; vall del riu d'Os, 1000 m., 1 $ 2 with two egg-cocoons.This species seems not to be a common one in Andorra, though it reaches higher altitudes in Eastern Pyrenees t.I have already 3 pointed out that * Andorra is divided into six parishes : Sant Julia de Loria and Andorra la vella on the Gran Valira, la Massana and Ordino on the Valira del Norte, Encamp and Canillo on the Valira del Orien.
