ResumoFatty acid methyl esters (FAME) were obtained from the seed ethanol extract of Annona cornifolia, by transesterification reaction. FAME showed antioxidant potential by its scavenging effect on the DPPH radical, being much more potent than the commercial antioxidant BHT. FAME also presented cytostatic and cytocidal effects against three human tumor cell lines, using the sulforhodamine B assay
