Abstract Seventeen algae and fungal palynomorphs recovered from bottom sediments of Holocene age at Chascomús Lake, Buenos Aires Province, are described. The stratigraphic position of different associations and their probable environments is indicated. Some algae, such as the Characeae, seem to be good paleoenvironmental indicators.
