ResumoThis work aims to evaluate the inclusion of waste tyres within Glass Fiber Reinforced Concrete panels as a way to reduce the quantity of sand while giving a second use to a recycled material thus reaching a double ecological benefit. At the same time these materials are characterized from the acoustic point of view envisaging its possible use as a barrier against the pollution caused by noise. The influence of the rubber inclusion on the mechanical performance as well as on the microstructure and texture is considered. The durability of these panels is tested, by subjecting them to different aging treatments that include the drying/soaking cycles and temperature variations to which the material is exposed in a real situation.
