Resumo

A method for the simultaneous determination of pyridoxine hydrochloride and meclizine hydrochloride in Vominore tablets using HPLC is described. The mobile phase consisted of dodecyl sulphate sodium salt dissolved in a mixture of water, acetonitrile, methanol, glacial acetic acid and tetrahydrofuran. A Symmetry C18 silica column (250 times 4.6 mm) gave the best resolution with minimal tailing factors. The method was suitable for the analysis of the two components in tablet dosage forms and as a stability indicating method. Matrix components did not interfere with the HPLC chromatograms of the two active ingredients. The method was accurate, repeatable and reproducible. The percentage recovery, bias and relative standard deviations for the HPLC measurements were within US Pharmacopeial limits.
