A "solid" echo experiment is described which provides for direct and accurate measurement of interpair dipolar interactions. It is applicable whenever the intrapair interaction is sufficiently larger than the interpair one for fine structure to be resolved in the steady-state spectrum. The technique is applied to crystalline hydrates.
