Heavy meromyosin has been prepared from myosin under different conditions of tryptic digestion. Specimens of the various heavy meromyosins have been prepared for electron-microscopic examination by the shadow-replica technique. It has been found that the size and appearance of the particles observed in the electron microscope varies with the digestion and preparative conditions.
