Resumo

Florence, Bibliotheca Medici Laurenziana, MS Plut. 78.19 is a twelfthcentury Irish manuscript containing a copy of Boethius's Consolatio Philosophiae. It also contains some 5,000 glosses, of which 28 are in Irish. These Irish glosses are edited here for the first time, with accompanying commentary, an analysis of the different strata in which they are grouped, and further discussions of their content and function, relationship to the Latin glosses, date, and significance. An index of the Irish words contained in these glosses is also provided.
