Parathormone resistant hypocalcemia and hyperphosphatemia are present. These patients may exhibit short stature, round face, mental retardation, hypocalcemic tetany (refractory to correction with parathyroid extract), and osseous abnormalities. A less common variant, usually termed pseudo-pseudohypoparathyroidism, which has the same anatomic abnormalities as those found in patients having pseudohypoparathyroidism but with normal serum calcium and phosphorus levels has also been described. Pseudo-pseudohypoparathyroidism is considered to be an incompletely expressed form of pseudohypoparathyroidism. The effect of treatment during adolescence has not been reported...References1.
