ResumoABSTRACT This paper describes a project‐based approach to the introduction of quality assurance processes and practices at Victoria University of Technology, Melbourne in the area of academic programme delivery. The focus of the project is to harness the pre‐existing collegial culture of academe to create lateral multidisciplinary teams of academics. A description of one project concerned with establishing feedback mechanisms demonstrates how cross‐fertilisation of ideas was fostered and significant outputs were achieved through these relationships in a comparatively short time. The paper concludes that the project demonstrates the value of harnessing the collegial culture of academe to the implementation of TQM principles in higher education settings. It stresses the value of culture binding through transformative processes in quality improvement especially in diverse multi‐campus environments. Additional informationNotes on contributorsDawn E. R.
