Abstract Titration curves are often discussed in piecemeal fashion: one approximate description for the part before the equivalence point, a different approximation for the part beyond this point and, finally, yet another formula for the equivalence point itsell We use examples of some simple redox titrations to illustrate that it is not really necessary to make the customary approximations, because the entire redox titration curve can be described exactly as the simple ratio of a formation curve and a dissociation curve.
