Glass-forming region and electrical properties of Li2O-PbO-P2O5 glasses

ResumoThe glass-forming region has been determined in the ternary system Li2O-PbO-P2O5. The thermal and electrical properties of xLi2O-(0.50−x)PbO-0.50P2O5 (0 ≤ x ≤ 0.50) have been studied. DSC measurements give the variation of Tg from 395°C (for x = 0) to 302°C (for x = 0.50). Ionic conductivity increases from 2.23 10−7 (for x = 0.10) to 10−3 Ω−1·cm−1 (for x = 0.50) at 300°C; the activation energy decreases from 1.05 to 0.71 eV on increasing lithium content. Electrical and structural data are correlated.
