ResumoDESCRIPTION 0.3kb human apolipoprotein CI cDNA fragment isolated from a human liver cDNA library and subcloned into the EcoRI site of pBR329 (1).POLYMORPHISM DraI (TTTAAA) (International Biotechnologies Inc.) detects two invariant bands at 3.5kb and 7.Okb and a single two-allele polymorphism with bands at either 10.2kb or at 7.6kb and 2.6kb.FREQUENCY Studied in 378 unrelated North American individuals 10.2kb allele 0.214±0.0157.6 and 2.6kb allele 0.786±0.015NOT POLYMORPHIC FOR Not extensively screened.CHROMOSOMAL LOCALIZATION Human apolipoprotein CI gene located on chromosome 19 by Southern blot analysis of DNA from human-rodent somatic cell hybrids (2,3).MENDELIAN INHERITANCE Co-dominant segregation observed in three families (18 individuals).PROBE AVAILABILITY Requests for probe to P.F. at the above address.
