Resumo

AbstractIn this article, references to two Spanish painters (Goya and Picasso) in works by Miguel Torga are analysed, more particularly those in Iberian Poems and his Diary (consisting of sixteen volumes written between 1932 and 1993). Approache s to the same two painters by two other Portuguese writers, Mário de Sá-Carneiro and Jorge de Sena, are also examined. The analysis of this material enables us to see how far the authors' images of these painters and their work reflect their general attitudes to art, the world, and life.In this article, references to two Spanish painters (Goya and Picasso) in works by Miguel Torga are analysed, more particularly those in Iberian Poems and his Diary (consisting of sixteen volumes written between 1932 and 1993). Keywords: TORGAPAINTINGLITERATUREGOYAPICASSOSENASÁ-CARNEIROMODERNISM
