ResumoTwo cases of peroneal nerve palsy resulting in drop foot are reported. One case involves direct injury to the common peroneal nerve by an acupuncture needle. A second case describes sciatic nerve injury caused by an intragluteal injection. Although acupuncture injury at the spinal cord level and the peripheral nerves of the upper extremity has been documented, peroneal nerve palsy resulting from acupuncture therapy has not been previously reported.
