Resumo

In many places in North America there is a lack of pediatric palliative care. Agencies may be hesitant to care for children with uncommon or rare conditions and diseases. Yet many families have been well served by adult teams who have been trained to care for children consulting with pediatric teams. This workshop aims to show how needs of children can be met by helping programs grow and develop to provide excellent care even for children with complex conditions or rare diseases. It will address the conditions, needs, symptom management, and care of these children and their families in a holistic way that will empower the team to use what they have and move forward.
