Resumo

The electron capture decay of 155Tb(5.6 d) and the beta decay of 155Eu(1.81 y) to excited states in 155Gd have been studied with a Ge(Li) detector and a scintillation spectrometer in singles and coincidence. The 155Tb sources were obtained from the 153Eu(α,2n)155Tb and 154Gd(α,3n)155Dy reactions. Previously unreported transitions in the decay of 155Tb with energies of 200.3, 235.1, 326.0, 383.1, 391.4, 427.4, 487.5, 532.4, and 647.8 keV were observed. The results including coincidence data permit an improvement of the level scheme of 155Gd previously proposed on the basis of internal conversion electron data. Gamma-ray transitions have been incorporated into a consistent level scheme for 155Gd with levels at 60.0, 86.5, 105.3, 118.0, 146.0, 235.1, 266.6, 268.6, 286.8, 326.0, 367.7, 427.3, 451.3, 488.8, 592.6 and 647.7 keV. Ratios of experimental gamma-ray transition probabilities from the 488.8, 451.3, 326.0, 286.8, 118.0, 105.3 and 86.5 keV states are presented. An attempt has been made to discuss the level scheme of 155Gd in terms of the Nilsson model.
