ResumoAbstract In the systems Novocaine bichromate + water, Novocaine perchlorate + water, Novocaine rhodanide + water and Novocaine iodide + water an unmixing region occurs. In the first three cases mentioned the unmixing is stable within a certain temperature range. In the binary systems mentioned in 1. we encounter the case of a system consisting of a typical electrolyte and water in which equilibria are observed between two liquid phases, on the one hand of the type familiar in the case of two substances which give an unmixing area in the liquid state, and which on the other hand recall the phenomenon occurring upon mixing two oppositely charged biocolloid sols, which has been given the name complex coacervation.
