The Science building and the Holcomb Research Institute, with their 20,500 m 2 of constructed surface, form part of the scientific complex of Butler University. The distribution scheme adopted for its development consists of coupling the new «L»-shaped structure, originated by joining both buildings to the existing building, with the object of concentrating pedestrian traffic in the large rectangular patio which has been created. The new building houses different student laboratories, grouped by departments, with classrooms and reading rooms located on the ground floor. In both these structures, the laboratories are located in the central part of each floor, with the corridors and offices located around the perimeter, adjacent to the toilets, staircases and elevators, located in the outer part of the building. The Holcomb Institute contains research laboratories, meeting rooms, offices and a scientific library.
