This updated software proactively notifies users through e-mail when pipettes are due for calibration or preventive maintenance. It provides more tools to analyze pipette calibration and maintenance records and allows laboratories to set action limits. All calibration data are collected directly from the Artel PCS and stored in secure databases, facilitating easy report generation and compliance. The Artel Pipette Tracker version 3.3 is also faster and able to manage larger pipette inventories than earlier versions. LHC Secure is fully 21 CFR Part 11 compliant for the GxP laboratory or any laboratory requiring safe recordkeeping. LHC Secure offers flexible multiuser permission levels and electronic protocol and system audit trail signing. It also offers the same features as standard LHC software, including assay-specific programming and StepWise protocol creation for simple to complex liquid handling routines. Automatic protocol validation, dual mode control, and custom maintenance reminders are also available with both LHC Secure and LHC versions. Fully compatible with most commercial barcode readers, scanners, and Tubesorter systems, Track-IT is customizable to match workflows and aspects of different sample types. More: www.micronic.com/products/74/sample-management-database For DNA fragment and RNA analysis with QIAxcel multicapillary gel electrophoresis systems, this new software enables interpretation and customized documentation of electrophoresis analysis. It facilitates system setup and data analysis with an intuitive user interface. Performance of runs is supported by wizards that guide users step by step through experiment setup. The software supports electronic record requirements specified under 21 CFR part 11 and enables standardized sample processing with process templates that cover the entire workflow as well as secure user management with a variety of access levels. ScreenGel is backwards compatible with the previous BioCalculator software. The new ProtoCOL 2 enables the use of modules that perform applications, including rapid TVC of colonies, spiral plate counting, Ames test counts, inhibition zone measurement, and OPKA assay counts. Software updates are available for existing users. More: www.synbiosis.com The RTR-500AW acts as a wireless base unit for any of T&D’s RTR-500 Series Data Loggers as remote units. It monitors and downloads readings from the remote units over a 900-MHz wireless link and then presents the data over a network through an 802.11g Wi-Fi connection. The data are delivered to users through direct transfer to an ftp server, via e-mail or online though T&D’s free WebStorage Service. This allows the data to be collected without a PC and makes it possible to share and manage data over a network. In addition, the RTR-500AW also can send warning reports via e-mail or issue a warning via contact output when a remote unit has entered or recovered from a warning condition. More: www.tandd.com According to T&D, its new RTR-500DC is considered ideal for applications where items to be monitored are in motion or where physical access to the data logger itself is inconvenient or impractical. The unit can monitor and download data from up to 224 separate loggers and stores up to 256 000 readings, which can then be uploaded to a PC via a USB connection. A graphical data display includes a zoom function. The unit includes a search mode for locating data loggers and a signal strength indicator. This pocket-sized unit weighs 4.4 oz and operates for over 100 hours on two AAA batteries. Transmission distance is up to 500 feet, line of sight, which can be extended with the use of wireless repeaters. More: www.tandd.com TAP’s new ambr software, which controls all the programming, processing, and data generation activities of its ambr workstation, can be set up for prearranged or on-demand e-mail alerts and reports in text or graph formats that can be downloaded to smart phones. This function enables ambr users to access data or check that all the micro-bioreactors on the ambr workstation are running at optimum efficiency. The ambr software also can be accessed via remote desktop, allowing users to monitor and control the functions of a number of ambr systems located at different sites. Other enhancements include features such as a simpler user interface, a quicker method of integrating new labware into the system, and a data report feature for easier export into Excel spreadsheets. The protocols are free to download and include all of the measurement and calculation parameters defined in the associated assay kit instructions. The site also provides clear instructions on how to import the protocols into the Thermo Scientific SkanIt PC Software. More: www.thermoscientific.com/GOprotocols This new generation of Two Fold’s LIMS solution features a simplified intuitive user interface for improved clarity and flexibility. It also allows users to define sequential sample numbering by laboratory, by batch, or by project. The Web-based Qualoupe user customizable interface is principally icon driven with screens that use a just enough information model (JEIM) that requires minimal mouse clicks to operate. More: www.twofold-software.com The enhanced interface design and user friendliness of the Run Manager software module of the Qualoupe next generation of LIMS solution enables the rapid setup of queues of samples to be processed through a specific laboratory instrument for a given method.
