Resumo

Two cases are reported in which the treatment of pan-facial fracturesvia a bi-temporal flap approach was complicated by cessation of activity of the sinuatrial node (sinus arrest). The anatomical, physiological and anaesthetic implications of this potentially fatal complication are discussed.
