Values of the ionization energies of the singly ionized rare earths have been obtained by means of a semiempirical calculation. The results in eV are:La ii11.06Sm ii11.07Ho ii11.80Ce ii10.85Eu ii11.25Er ii11.93Pr ii10.55Gd ii12.1Tm ii12.05Nd ii10.73Tb ii11.52Yb ii12.17Pm ii10.90Dy ii11.67Lu ii13.9The uncertainty is estimated to be ±0.08 eV except for Gd ii and Lu ii where the estimated uncertainty is ±0.4 eV.
