ResumoA satellite workshop entitled 'Use of resonance energy transfer (RET) approaches to study signal transduction: conceptual and methodological considerations' was held during a recent Molecular Pharmacology Gordon Conference in Ventura (USA). In this article, we summarize the principal trends of the field that were discussed during the workshop. Consensus guidelines for obtaining reliable information from RET-based experiments are also presented.
