This article presents a brief study of some of the problems concerning the methods of hinterland demarcation, here based on data from the Kristiansund-Molde-area. Special weight is put on telephone call statistics, a source of information which has been surprisingly little used in Norway. For comparison, studies of population movement and of newspaper circulation have been used.
