ResumoThe small crucifer Arabidopsis thaliana (L.) Heynh, has many advantages as a model system for plant molecular genetics. A substantial base of genetic information already exists and a diverse collection of mutants have been isolated and used to address a number of questions in plant biochemistry and physiology. The molecular analysis of these mutants should be facilitated by a relatively small and simple genome.
