Resumo

The lifetimes of the first excited states of B10 ,O17 and F17 have been measured by the delayed coincidence method using a pulsed beam. The measured mean lives are: (1.00±0.03) × 10−9 sec (B16), (4.30±0.21) × 10−10 sec (O17) and (4.29±0.22) × 10−19 sec (F17). The chief theoretical treatments of quadrupole enhancement are reviewed, and their predictions compared with the experimental results.
