Resumo

The antiferromagnetic (AF) phase transition of Bi2Sr2YCu2O8.37 was investigated by DC magnetic susceptibility (χAF) and magnetic specific heat (Cmag) measurements. From the temperature dependence of χAF, the exchange interaction J/kB between Cu2+-spins was derived as about 770 K and the AF transition temperature TN was obtained as about 340 K from the inflection point of χAF; in the Cmag data, an anomaly appeared at about 330 K, and magnetic entropy was estimated as 5.89 J/(mol-Cu2+ K) from Cmag/T vs. T-curve. These results show that whole Cu2+ spins of S =12 order into antiferromagnetic state at TN = 330 ≈ 340 K.
