Abstract The structure, operation and implementation of a simple paper-tape editor designed to operate in a microprocessor system with a few kbytes of memory and a Teletype is described. This editor has been implemented on Intel 8008 and 8080 microprocessors, and is used by undergraduates for preparing microprocessor programs.
