Abstract Ketone semicarbazones react with two moles of phosphorus oxychloride‐dimethylformamide with the formation of 3‐substituted pyrazole‐4‐carboxaldehydes. Aldehyde semicarbazones give, with one mole of phosphorus oxychloride‐dimethylformamide, amidazines.
