Resumo

The excretion rates of oestriol and creatinine in pregnancy were found to bear a constant relationship throughout a 24-h period. Oestriol levels, expressed in mg per g of creatinine, gave a good indication of impending foetal death and it was established that these values could be satisfactorily obtained from random urine samples. Normal values for oestriol excretion in mg per g of creatinine were determined using random urine samples from healthy pregnant patients.
