The potential benefit of liver xenograft remains unclear because the procedure has many unresolved immunologic problems [3]. In contrast, LRD liver transplantation can realistically be used to resolve the problems of inadequate pediatric and urgent adult transplantation [4]. For pediatric LRD liver transplantation, a sufficient volume of parental liver can be harvested to guarantee the survival of the pediatric recipient. However, the clinical outcome of LRD liver ...References1. Starzl TE, Fung J, Tzakis A, Todo S, Demetris AJ, Marino IR, et al. Baboon-to-human liver transplantation. Lancet. 1993; 341:65-71.
