ResumoStability constants of protonated 1:1 and normal 1:1 mixed ligand chelates of rare earths with EDTA and TPP and for the normal 1:1 mixed ligand chelates of rare earths with EDTA and ATP are investigated by a potentiometric method at 35°C and 0·10 ionic trength. The stabilities decrease in the order Tm(III) > Er(III) > Ho(III) > Dy(III) > Tb(III) > Y(III) > Gd(III) > Eu(III) > Sm(III) > Nd(III) > Pr(III) > Ce(III) > La(III) for both for protonated 1:1 and normal 1:1 mixed ligand chelates of TPP. For the normal chelates of ATP, the stabilities increase in the order La(III) < Ce(III) < Pr(III) < Nd(III) < Gd(III) < Sm(III) < Eu(III) < Y(III) < Tb(III) < Dy(III) < Ho(III) < Er(III) < Tm(III).
