ResumoAfter a phenomenological discussion of elasticity, viscosity, friction, and plasticity in textile structures, rheological models of coupled frictional, elastic, and plastic elements of finite and infinitesimal types are demonstrated, and their stress–strain behaviour is derived. These models are applied to deformation–recovery phenomena of textile fabrics in extension, shearing, bending–buckling, and creasing, and theoretical conclusions are compared with experimental results.
