ResumoEnantioseparations of chiral compounds were studied by non-aqueous capillary electrochromatography (NAQ CEC) with cellulose tris(3,5-dichlorophenylcarbamate) (CDCPC) coated on silica gel. The high chiral recognition ability of CDCPC in polar organic solvents towards many analytes allowed the amount of the chiral selector loaded onto the surface of silica to be reduced significantly. The reduced coating of the chiral selector allowed more effective exploitation of the advantages of electrokinetically-driven flow compared to pressure-driven propulsion of the analyte. Plate numbers were obtained in the range of 180 000–215 000 m–1 which are among the highest efficiencies observed in chiral CEC.
