The attainment of complete remission, proven by second-look surgery, is the first step toward achieving prolonged survival and cure of stage III cancer of the ovary. Recently, Ozols and associates (1) have reported that administration of very high doses of cisplatin (200 mg/m2 body surface area over 5 consecutive days) has achieved frequent tumor regression in patients with advanced cancer of the ovary previously refractory to conventional doses of cisplatin. To improve complete...Reference1. OZOLSCORDENJACOBWESLEYOSTCHEGAYOUNG RBJMYR. High-dose cisplatin in hypertonic saline. Ann Intern Med. 1984;100:19-24. LinkGoogle Scholar1.
