Abstract Copper(II) complexes of mono-, di- and tri-ethanolamines have been prepared from aqueous solution using sodium tetraphenylboron as precipitant. The mono- and di-ethanolamine complexes have a metal:ligand ratio of 1 : 2. Two triethanolamine complexes were prepared, with metal:ligand ratios of 1 : 1 and 1 : 2. Structures of the complexes are proposed and discussed. The results are compared with previous work on copper(II) ethanolamine systems.
