Resumo

A simple method for reducing horizontal or vertical streak artifacts in CT images is presented. The artifact correction is achieved by standardizing the mean of each matrix row or column to a common gray level. Prerequisite for this manipulation is the deletion of bone and all information outside the bone. Both procedures are realized as FORTRAN modules in a general CT picture processing program.
