Summary The authors describe a new species of Labiatae for which a new genus is proposed: Euhesperida. This species (E. linearifolia sp. nov.) showing a major affinity with the genus Origanum, was found in North Cyrenaica; it is frequent on the calcareous rocks of the wadis of the Gebel el-Akhdar, near Bengasi. Gli autori descrivono una nuova Labiata per la quale è stato creato un genere nuovo: Euhesperida. La specie—E. linearifolia sp. nov.—presenta le maggiori affinité con il genere Origanum ed è stata rinvenuta nella Cirenaica settentrionale, dove vive sulle rupi calcaree di alcuni uadi del Gebel el-Akhdar, nei pressi di Bengasi.
