ResumoReference gas chromatographic/matrix isolation/Fourier transform infrared (GC/MI/FT-IR) spectra have been recorded for the fifteen laterally chlorinated dibenzo-p-dioxins and dibenzofurans, the octachlorinated species of these two parent molecules, and the two 2,3,7,8-tetrabrominated compounds. The GC/MI/FT-IR technique provides isomer-specific spectra of these compounds, and detection limits for these substances using this method range from several hundred picograms to approximately one nanogram.
