Resumo

The lithium-lead eutectic is a fairly new tritium breeding material envisaged for use in fusion reactors. The data base on this alloy is rather small. The available information on its physical and chemical properties is presented. An outline of the progress made in the investigations to elucidate the specific problems related to the application of this alloy in fusion reactors is also given, together with the description of conceptual blanket designs in which the lithium-lead eutectic is utilized.
