ResumoA novel fluoranthene based fluorescent chemosensor for the detection of picric acid (PA) at the parts per billion (ppb) level was evaluated. Static fluorescence quenching was the dominant process by intercalative π–π interaction between fluoranthene (S1) and nitroaromatics.
